Brief Biography of Oscar Uzcategui Q.
Mr. Oscar Uzcategui Q. was born on August 28, 1950, in a village located in the Andes' mountain range of Venezuela. From an early age he felt very strong spiritual longings. As a child, he began an incessant quest for the moral values that are inherent to the Being of the Gnostics. As a boy, he was compelled to scrutinize the Rosicrucian philosophy, Theosophy, Freemasonry, and the beliefs of Spiritism. He came to the conclusion that it was not possible to grasp the practical and precise elements which are necessary to attain the man's integral psychic development, using these schools.
When he was fifteen years old, in the beginning of his adolescence, he happened upon a Gnostic brochure titled "Masterful Lesson". In that brochure, Samael Aun Weor explained briefly what Gnosis was, its goals, methods, etc. This brochure moved him to seek and delve deeply into the Gnostic knowledge. During this time, thanks to the secret hand of the fate, he met a sergeant who instructed him and some of his friends in Gnosis.
Once enrolled in Gnosis, he began to grow wiser with all of the treatises written by Mr. Samael Aun Weor.
When he was sixteen years old, he created Gnostic centres in his town (Maracaibo-Zulia) and in other surrounding areas and worked as a Gnostic instructor.
Afterwards, he started to correspond with Mr. Samael Aun Weor. This correspondence lasted for nine years. During those nine years, he had many consultations and dialogues with the founder and President of contemporary Gnosticism (Samael Aun Weor). Therefore, the sum of those experiences allowed him to acquire a wide and profound knowledge and understanding of the Gnostic doctrine.
When he was twenty four years old, Samael Aun Weor invited him to travel to Mexico. Thus he left Venezuela and travelled to Mexico in order to work under the guidance of Mr. Samael. Following the instructions of Samael, Oscar Uzcategui carried out several missions for spreading Gnosis in the East, West and centre of the Aztec country.
It is good to say that Mr. Oscar Uzcategui Q. lived in close proximity to the founder of contemporary Gnosticism, Mr. Samael, for three years. He was also privileged to live in his home for several periods of time.
During this period he personally witnessed the depth and scope of the Gnostic wisdom that flowed from Samael Aun Weor.
This exposure allowed him to get a clear and objective vision of the line of metaphysical and doctrinal work upheld by Mr. Samael Aun Weor. Thanks to this experience, AGEAC (Asociacion Gnostica de Estudios Antropologicos, Culturales y Cientificos, the institution founded by Oscar Uzcategui Q. in 1989) can presently carry out the spreading of Gnosis worldwide, without modification to the Gnostic body of doctrine or the line of work established by Samael Aun Weor.
Samael Aun Weor died on December 24, 1977. Oscar Uzcategui Q. had made a promise to Samael Aun Weor while on his deathbed, that he would continue the work of spreading this bright knowledge called Gnosis.
From 1980 to 1983 he accomplished a great undertaking by spreading the Samaelian Gnosis in several countries such as France, Belgium, Italy and Greece. In 1984, he settled down in Spain and remains there today. From 1985 to 1998 he was dedicated to create in Spain, centres for training Gnostic instructors.
He also visited Africa during this period. Prior to visiting Africa, he had established contact with the continent through correspondence courses that he managed from Grenoble (France). The first groups of African students were formed thanks to those correspondence courses. Some of the original African groups still remain today in countries such as Gabon, Cameroon, Togo, and Benin to name a few.
As previously mentioned, Oscar Uzcategui founded AGEAC (Asociacion Gnostica de Estudios Antropologicos, Culturales y Cientificos) in 1989 with the aim of spreading Gnosis for the good of the entire humanity.
It is also good to say that he has taken part in several International Gnostic Congresses such as the following ones:
- International Gnostic Congress of Anthropology held in Guadalajara (Jalisco, Mexico) on October, 1976.
- International Gnostic Congress held in 1978 in Caracas (Venezuela).
- International Gnostic Congress held in Montreal (Quebec, Canada) in 1986.
- International Gnostic Congress held in Vienna (Austria) in 1990.
- International Gnostic Congress held in New York city in 1992.
- International Gnostic Congress held in Quebec city, (province of Quebec, Canada) in the year 2000.
- International Gnostic Congress held in Brasov (Romania) in the year 2004.
Moreover, he has managed "International Meetings of Gnostic Instructors" with the aim of exchanging points of view and information about methods of work with various Gnostic instructors worldwide.
Currently, he is arranging the next International Gnostic Congress of Anthropology which will be held in New Delhi (India).
Mr. Oscar Uzcategui is also the author of many prologues to the works by V.M. Samael Aun Weor.
He has also published various manuscripts. Among the outstanding works written by Mr. Oscar Uzcategui Q., we can name the following titles:
- Las Respuestas que dio un Lama.
- 33 Grabados Alquimistas Develados.
- El Egipto Gnóstico.
- Habla el Mutus Liber.
- Memorias de un Sacerdote Tebano.
- Joyas Alquímicas.
- El Poder del Tótem.
- Arquetipos Gnósticos Eternos.
- Ego, Esencia y Realidad.
- Ontología Gnóstica.
- Lambsprinck Develado.
At present Mr. Oscar Uzcategui continues to offer courses at various locations throughout the world including Romania, France, Spain and Brazil, in order to train more Gnostic instructors for spreading Samaelian Gnostic studies.
In addition, he keeps in close contact with all the Gnostic instructors of AGEAC, sending doctrinal explanations to them by means of a brochure titled "Questions to the International Coordinator".
We conclude this biography by remarking that the only reason for the work carried out by Mr. Oscar Uzcategui was to repay Master Samael Aun Weor (who was his preceptor) for his enormous contribution of knowledge and activities that he developed on the altar of self-sacrifice for the good of humanity.
