GNOSTIC PRINCIPLES
Now, it is necessary to deepen our understanding regarding some of the PRINCIPLES that have always characterized the Gnosis.
Those who have been never interested in diving in the wide sea of the doctrinal basis of the eternal Gnosis, easily can fall into the temptation of forming a quick conclusion of the significance of this revealing knowledge, and, as a consequence, generate an idea that is short of objectivity and reality.
Gnosticism is accused of being a corporal and sensual doctrine; however, those who criticize do not understand or know the Gnostic principles that explain the condition of the present man in the framework of Creation. It is clear that humanity has degenerated over the centuries, and in order to provide evidence to this assertion, it is enough to have a look at all of the black pages or unenlightened acts conducted throughout history and we will realize that instead of becoming better, we have become worse in all aspects.

Gnosticism has never accepted, and will never accept that the salvation of the Soul can be reached by a simple act of faith, because this would be equivalent to accept that the evolutionary mechanics of time will end up making all of us perfect. And if this were the case, all the sufferings endured by the martyrs, envoys, illuminated Masters or prophets in their effort to show us the Path to regeneration and salvation would have been unnecessary and pointless.
This is the reason why some ancient Gnostic groups expressed the following: «I suffer in my corporal vesture to which they -the psychological egos- brought me; and cast me out -from the circle of eternity- into this vale of tears».
GNOSIS is not a doctrine that hates the body, but an ideology which understands that human being is a prisoner of nature and its great number of laws; and that is the reason why other Gnostic groups such as the old congregation of Benares exclaims:
